My Home For The Holidays

Happy Saturday Everyone! I can't believe Christmas is next week. Luckily I have all my shopping and wrapping done, and I am looking forward to relaxing and enjoy the holidays. Christmas Pajamas, my moms cooking, cookies, and lots of festive cocktails by the fireplace are on the agenda. Until then, I wanted to share each corner of my home decorated for the Holidays!

#TBT My Wedding Season Looks

Bridesmaid-Dress Lazaro-Wedding-Dress Lamb&Lobster

In honor of #tbt I though I would do a recap of all of the looks I wore during Wedding Season this year! This summer we went to 8 weddings and I was in two of them. It was by far the busiest, but most fun Wedding Season yet! With all the events-showers, bacheloretee parties/weekends,rehearsal dinners and the actual weddings it can be tough to find the perfect outfit for each. Here is a look at how I tackled Wedding Season with only one outfit repeat :)

M&M Cookies

M&M-Cookie-Recipe

One of my favorite memories of Christmas time is baking cookies with my mom and sister. We would spend a whole day mixing, baking and decorating so many different types of cookies. My favorites are Neiman Marcus Cookies, Italian Pizzelles and M&M cookies.

It's tradition that I make Neiman Marcus Cookies with my mom every year. And only my mom has a Pizzelle maker. So last night I tackled the M&M cookies! I adapted them from this recipe. They are fail proof, so a great option to bake if you need to bring cookies to a party or to give as gifts-they always turn out perfect. All due to one secret ingredient, Instant Vanilla Pudding!

Ingredients:
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 cups all purpose Gold Medal Flour
  • 3 tablespoons Instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1 or 1-1/2 cups Mini M and M’s
  • Pink Himalayan Salt for sprinkling
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. and line a large baking sheet with a silpat liner. I use a Air Bake cookie sheet, they are the best!

2.In a large mixing bowl cream your butter and sugars until combined. Add egg and vanilla and combine. Add flour, pudding mix, baking soda and salt, stirring to combine. Mix in min chocolate chips and m&m’s.

3. With a medium cookie scoop, place dough 1 inch apart from each other on silpat. I sprinkle a little bit of Himalayan Salt on top right before baking. It gives them the best salty but sweet taste! Bake for 10-12 minutes or until just browned around the edges. They will keep cooking a little bit as they cool! Let cool on cookie sheet until cool enough to grab and put in your mouth! Transfer the remaining cookies to a cooling rack to finish cooling. Makes 24 cookies.
Enjoy!

*Seriously, buy a Silpat and Air Bake cookie sheets. They make a huge difference and I don't bake cookies without them!

Dressed Up Dresser

statement-necklaces jewelry-display
I wanted to display my obsessive {okay, really obsessive} necklace collection and add some color to this boring white ikea dresser that I keep in my closet. This also makes it really easy to see what you've got when you are adding a statement necklace to your outfit! What do you think? How do you display your jewelry?

Bourbon Brown Sugar Salmon

This is my mom's famous recipe for copper river salmon! This recipe is by far my favorite salmon recipe. Everyone asks for the recipe as soon as they try it. We typically make it in the summer, but lately I have been thinking it would be fun to change up our Christmas Eve Dinner tradition and go with a big family style seafood/Italian feast!  It is the only salmon marinade you will ever need.. trust me.

1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons bourbon
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
3 green onions, finely chopped

1. mix brown sugar, bourbon, oil and soy sauce in bowl.
2. chop green onions and mix into sauce.
3. pour marinade over salmon in baking dish, cover with plastic wrap and marinade for 20 minutes in fridge.
4. place salmon in non-stick fish basket (this will be your best friend) and place on grill.
5. save the leftover marinade to pour over finished salmon.
6. grill for about 7 minutes on each side.
7. transfer salmon to serving dish, pour leftover marinade on top.
8. eat. yum.

What are some of your Christmas Eve Traditions? I'd love to hear!

The Best Top Coat. Ever.

The-Best-Top-Coat-Ever
Where has this top coat been all my life? Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat is absolutely amazing. I am pretty obsessed with my nails, nail polish, top coats etc. So the fact that I love this so much says a lot. It claims to provide salon quality nails that last. It definitely passes the test- every time I have used this top coat at least one person has asked me where I get my shellac done at. They are shocked when I tell them I did it myself :) This picture was taken on day four, and look, NO chips!! With other top coat's I typically have chips after the second day. It also feels smoother and a little thicker (but not too thick) than a typical top coat. It feels almost like fake nails, but minus the feeling that you have something stuck on top or under your nails. Which I can’t stand. I am really impressed so far and this is for sure the only top coat I will buy now.

I have found that their base coat, color and this top coat is the best combo. I have a bunch of Essie and OPI polish so I have also used just the base and top coat with another polish and it still lasts way longer than others I have tried!

Treat yourself, and go buy this!

Enjoy!

Partying With Mrs. Peck

The engagement party was a success! There was wine LOTS of wine, wedding talk, a fabulous cheese plate and drunken dancing with Mrs. Peck. Kelsey’s name changed to Mrs. Peck after about 2 glasses of wine.
As promised, here is the gift I put together.
1.} I got the chalkboard at the craft store, added some gold paint and a stick of chalk with washi tape and, BAM! this chalkboard sparkles like that diamond on her finger.
2.} This candle I just got at the drug store, ripped off the vanilla sugar cookie label and stuck my label on.  I made the label in PicMonkey and printed it on full sheet label paper.
DIY-Engagement-Gift

It was such an easy gift to put together and I thought these were two things a bride to be could really use, a countdown calendar and a candle to help her relax during all the planning. She loved it, and the chalkboard worked great as a decoration during the party!
Here are a few of my favorite pics from the party!
